Where can I buy a River Café + Deane House Gift Card?

Plastic Gift Cards are available for purchase on-site at River Café, and via our website, river-cafe.com. Deane House is currently closed for repairs, and will re-open in January 2020.

E-Gift Cards are available at river-cafe.com

What amount can I load my card for?

Gift Cards can be loaded in increments from $50 to $500 per card.

What forms of Payment do you accept?

River Café + Deane House Gift Cards may be paid for with a valid Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or Union Pay.

Can I add a personalized message to a Gift Card?

If you wish to add a personal message to a Gift Card, simply type your message in the Message field during the purchase process.

Personal messages are limited in length to 280 characters.

There is no additional charge to include a personalized message.

If we do find inappropriate, offensive or otherwise objectionable messages, we reserve the right to cancel them.

Do River Café + Deane House Gift Cards expire?

River Café + Deane House Gift Cards never expire (*excludes promotional bonus cards).

Where can I use my River Café + Deane House Gift Card?

River Café + Deane House Gift Cards can be used at either restaurant.

How do I use a Gift Card at a location?

Plastic Gift Cards must be present when being used for payment. E-Gift Cards can be presented on your mobile device, or as a printed copy.

Can I use the Gift Card to leave a tip?

If there is a remaining balance, you may leave this as a tip.

Can I return my card and get a refund?

Gift Cards are not refundable.

What if a Gift Card gets lost or stolen?

Gift Cards will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Gift Cards have cash value and should be safeguarded accordingly.

I purchased an eGift Card online and have not viewed it yet, what should I do?

eGift Cards are delivered via email. If you have confirmed the recipient’s email address but the eGift Card has not been viewed within a reasonable period after the requested delivery date, following is a list of the most common reasons why delivery may have failed:

  1. Spam filter blocked email or routed it to a bulk/spam folder
  2. Recipient’s firewall blocked the email
  3. Email inbox is over size limit
  4. Invalid email address

If a spam filter is blocking River Café + Deane House emails from getting to an inbox, the email options will need to be modified so that River Café + Deane House emails are not considered spam.

If you need further assistance, contact Customer Support. Please refer to your order number, or be ready to supply your email address.

I purchased a plastic Gift Card online and it has not been delivered yet, what should I do?

Plastic Gift Card orders will be fulfilled within 3 business days plus standard shipping time. Gift Cards are sent via Canada Post ($1 shipping fee) and will typically take 7-12 days business days to reach their destination.

If you have not received your card during this time period, please contact Customer Support with your order number.

Please note: River Café + Deane House are not able to guarantee safe and timely delivery of cards sent via Canada Post.

Gift Cards

River Café + Deane House Cards are redeemable at both restaurant locations.

River Café + Deane House Gift Cards are available for purchase on-site at both restaurants, and via our websites, river-cafe.com and deanehouse.com.

With the exception of shipping fees for plastic gift cards, no fees of any kind will be imposed on purchasers or recipients of Gift Cards in connection with the sale of Gift Cards.

Redemption

Gift Cards must be present (can be virtual, mobile or physical) when being used for payment.

Refunds

Delivery Information Errors

We are not responsible for Gift Cards that are undeliverable or not received due to your failure to enter an accurate physical address or email address for the recipient. Please check to make sure the address of the recipient is correct and contact Customer Support if you believe you have made an error.

RIVER CAFE + DEANE HOUSE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO GIFT CARDS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF A GIFT CARD CODE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GIFT CARD. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MIGHT HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.

Disputes

These Terms of Use shall be construed in accordance with and governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Alberta, without reference to their rules regarding conflicts of law. You hereby irrevocably consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the provincial or federal courts in Canada in all disputes arising out of or related to the Gift Cards.
